To get the lightning bolt back, Percy has to fight Ares, the god of war, resist getting pulled into the endless pit of Tartarus where he would die, journey into the underworld, fight many monsters, and riskingly take an airplane to get to Mount Olympus on the 600th floor of the Empire State Building while Zeus could blast him to pieces any second.
